It’s true! More and more event organizers are turning to attendee use of camera phones to photograph events. The camera phone certainly has it’s place when it comes to capturing fun or unexpected personal interaction at an event. In some cases, personal interaction is best captured by the ubiquitous camera phone crowd. Let’s face it, there are cam phone photogs in every corner of the event. But….event organizers relying solely on the cam phone crew to capture “not-to-be-missed” activity is probably not a good idea. Would you depend on a cam phone photog to capture the appropriate historical record of a keynote speaker, or an awards ceremony?
A photographer dedicated to covering the event, and not a participant in the event, assures that important elements of an event are captured in the appropriate light. Images can then benefit the end customer for use in corporate communication, company history, annual reports and other corporate uses.
